Invenia Group has partnered with a global pharmaceutical company currently looking to hire a Head of CEE Cluster to its growing team of experts. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing organisation that offers fantastic progression opportunity to each employee.

Role responsibilities: 

If successful, you will be accountable for the overall operating and financial performance of the CEE business. You will proactively lead the development and implementation of short, medium, and long-term organisational strategies for expansion and sustained growth in Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Hungary. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Establish credibility as the CEE business leader assuming total fiscal responsibility for the Cluster to deliver on all financial health metrics
  • Assume operational responsibility for the sales and marketing activities in CEE Cluster, in line with regulatory requirements
  • Take on the formal statutory responsibilities of a Board Director for the legal entities in CEE Cluster countries, as specified
  • Hire, lead and develop a high-performing leadership team that delivers results whilst meeting all required company, legal, and industry compliance standards
  • Communicate, develop and execute on plans and strategies in CEE Cluster in line with the company’s overarching vision, mission, and purpose
  • Demonstrate a commercial understanding of the market dynamics and competitive position of each country within the Cluster and lead activities to deliver results and further develop the company brand
  • Lead Cluster planning and forecasting activities to continually monitor and regularly report on target achievement; lead actions to close any identified gaps
  • Work closely with key internal stakeholders for commercial competitive advantage in Cluster

 What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone with significant commercial experience within a global or regional pharmaceutical company at the senior leadership level. You should have significant sales and marketing experience within retail generics, hospital businesses, and specialty branded products and services, as well as the following:

  • Proven business experience in at least one of the countries within the specified Cluster
  • Evidence of leading cross-functional working with quality, scientific affairs, finance, supply chain, and portfolio/business development functions
  • Experience in developing effective and strategic business plans (short, medium, and long-term)
  • Degree-level qualification in a life science or business subject and an MBA degree (or equivalent) are desirable
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience of finance
  • Strong commercial acumen with a high level of professional integrity
  • Good project management skills with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills – confident liaising with all levels of authority, navigating cultural differences, and using negotiation, influencing, and persuasion techniques to influence results, where required.
  • Good team management experience (ideally including remote teams) – able to lead, motivate and develop individuals
  • Proactive self-starter – resilient and able to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with changeable priorities
  • Flexibility for travel across the Cluster area will be required for this role
