Director / Associate Director of Sales — Advanced RNA & Protein Detection Tools (US)
Invenia has exclusively partnered with a fast-growing biotechnology company developing next-generation RNA and protein detection tools that are expanding into BioPharma and building its first commercial team. The organisation has grown organically, is profitable, has thousands of global users, and is now entering the next phase of commercial growth.
They are hiring for their first two Associate/Director level Sales roles in the US to help accelerate adoption of their new reagent-based technologies.
📌 Director of Sales
- A commercially strong, networked individual with deep experience selling life science reagents (preferably low-plex assays or molecular detection reagents) into BioPharma discovery, tox, pathology, assay development, or translational biology teams.
- This person will operate with high autonomy, help shape commercial processes, and be the senior IC within the group.
- Will have the opportunity to manage the Associate Director role and will report to the CCO
📌 Associate Director of Sales
- A high-upside individual contributor with a complementary network to the Director hire, for example, imaging, spatial biology, histology, or translational research (reagents and/or consumables).
- This person will partner closely with the Director to grow territory adoption and activate new accounts.
Both roles are hands-on individual contributor roles, ideal for people who enjoy building rather than inheriting, and who thrive in a collaborative, start-up environment. They will play a critical role in establishing the company’s first commercial team
🎯 Ideal Candidate Profile
You may be a strong fit if you have:
- Experience selling reagents or consumables (particularly low-plex) rather than capital equipment
- Relationships within BioPharma discovery, assay development, tox, or pathology groups
- A persistent, thoughtful follow-up style that shortens “time-to-first-evaluation”
- A consultative approach when speaking with scientists
- Comfort working in technical environments
- Startup DNA: humble, collaborative, curious, and low ego
- A drive to build structure while still being fully hands-on in the field
This is not a role for someone looking to “manage from afar” or step back from IC work.

📍 Location
This is a fully remote position and we are flexible on location anywhere in the United States. Regular travel will be required for customer meetings, conferences, and alignment with the team. One role will own the West Coast territory and the other the East Coast.
