We have partnered with an international biotechnology company that has created exclusive technology for quantifying molecules in biological samples. Their innovative technology empowers researchers to analyze biomarkers directly influencing drug discovery and enhancing human health.

Within their European sales teams, they are looking for a motivated and driven salesperson to drive their business forward within the French-speaking part of Belgium & Luxembourg. The Account Manager in this role is crucial in managing a designated geographic region, focusing on achieving sales revenue objectives and fostering customer relationships. This position emphasizes acquiring customers within academia, industrial, contract research accounts, and similar sectors.

Role responsibilities:

If successful, you will be responsible for cultivating and sustaining relationships with potential and existing customers, acting as a liaison between customers and technical staff to ensure a comprehensive understanding of product/instrument portfolios. You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Develop sales programs strategically crafted to surpass budgeted sales volume targets.
  • Maintain and nurture customer relationships through regular meetings, either in person or via phone, ensuring consistent customer satisfaction and timely resolution of escalated issues.
  • Concentrate on prospecting new business opportunities while simultaneously growing and developing existing accounts.
  • Manage accounts, add new accounts to CRM, and regularly review data to ensure accuracy and currency.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the complete product portfolio, encompassing capital, consumables, and services.
  • Ensure successful integration of the Field Application Scientific team and Inside Sales team in strategic selling processes to drive the sales growth of instruments and consumable products.
  • Specific duties may vary based on departmental and territorial requirements.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Life Science, Engineering, or a related field. Additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Minimum of five years of sales experience, managing multiple geographic regions.
  • Experience in industrial and/or academic sales.
  • Fluent in English and French

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven sales record with knowledge of the assigned geographic region in Wallonia & Luxembourg.
  • Fluency in English and French is a must.
  • Strong technical background, particularly in Molecular Biology, Proteomics, and competitive technology systems.
  • Business acumen, negotiation and mediation skills, with a focus on achieving quality outcomes.
  • Ability to build and foster relationships, with a professional presence and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to expand business within a geographic region.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, effectively communicating issues, problems, results, and performance goals.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, WebEx, or related teleconferencing software.
  • Proficiency in SalesForce or related CRM.
  • Requires a high degree of creativity and latitude, including the ability to multitask in a demanding research environment with changing priorities.
  • Extensive travel is required, including overnight stays and working outside normal business hours as needed.
