Invenia Group is working with a rapidly expanding specialist manufacturer of scientific instrumentation to hire an In-House Service Manager.

The company manufactures specialist proteomic products used in drug discovery and immunology research. They have a great reputation in the market for the quality performance of their products and are constantly seeking to advance their technology platforms.

Role

  • This is an exciting time to join as you will be supporting them through the next phase of growth and commercialization of their technology and products.
  • The company has an excellent track record of promoting internally and invests a lot in developing its employees. This role has been created due to growth.
  • This position is responsible for managing in-house maintenance of instruments shipped back to the company for in-house service.
  • The person in the role will troubleshoot, repair and perform routine maintenance.
  • It will have 3 direct reports, who are based in-house.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring in-house service processes are managed properly on a day-to-day basis
  • Establish daily priorities for team members
  • Update and report shortages that may impact shipments to customers
  • Set up and maintain service schedules
  • Refurbish the company’s instruments
  • Repair bought equipment
  • Identify gaps in processes/procedures, and make changes where necessary
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and repairs
  • Establish and write new SOPs as necessary
  • Technical training on new instrumentation as well as changes to existing instrumentation
  • Provide training and guidance to team members

What we are looking for

  • Experience in a Service or Engineering management role
  • Needs to have worked with Life Science or complex imaging equipment
  • Needs to be happy to be on site 5 days a week
