Invenia Group has exclusively partnered with a growing start-up that is currently seeking an AD/Principal Automation Technology Engineer based in Massachusetts to join the team. Role responsibilities:

If successful, you will oversee the automation program incl. the operational technology (OT), infrastructure, equipment, and administration of GMP software packages to support GMP systems. You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Provide subject matter expert function for CAPAs, deviations, and change controls
  • Maintain life cycle management of automated system and documentation
  • Support in the execution of the OT elements of equipment and software during both project implementation and equipment lifecycle
  • Design, source, build, program, and validate automated solutions
  • Support computer systems validation (CSV) activities: change requests, test protocols, etc.
  • Generate URS/FRS documentation from collaboration with key stakeholders to determine automated system requirements
  • Ensure compliance with industry guidelines and regulations (21 CFR part 11, IQ7, etc.)

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone with a bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering and 12+ years in the GMP biotech/pharmaceutical industry of which at least 4 years of relevant automation engineering experience. You will have experience with implementing control systems (SCADA). You will have experience with PLC coding including Allen Bradley and have experience with virtual machines.

Additional experience:

  • BMS and EMS systems (Johnson Controls and Hanwell etc.)
  • Understanding of instrumentation, electrical, and wiring standards
  • Understand industry automation protocols (HART, Profibus, etc.)
  • SME in site automation systems
  • Experience in automation system validation in GMP facilities
