3x Product Manager roles | Next-Gen Sequencing | South San Francisco (Hybrid)

Location: South San Francisco, CA

Working model: Hybrid

We’re working with a fast-growing biotech start-up that is redefining DNA sequencing — built around speed, accuracy, and making science accessible. Their tools are used by thousands of researchers daily, from Nobel Prize-winning labs to early-stage startups. They tripled in size last year through revenue-driven growth and are hiring multiple PMs to help build the next wave of their sequencing portfolio.

What makes this unique: they’re as interested in scientists and field application scientists who want to move into product as they are in experienced PMs. If you have deep technical knowledge of the workflows, genuine curiosity about product, and some indication that commercial work interests you — they want to hear from you.

Two levels available:

Product Manager: for candidates transitioning into product

→ ~5 years of experience

→ Strong scientific or field background

Senior Product Manager: for technically strong, experienced PMs

→ 5–10 years of experience

→ Owned products end-to-end in a life sciences or biotech environment

→ Early stage / growth stage experience preferred

Who we’re looking for:

  • Scientists who have stayed close to the bench but have been engaged with the commercial side — VC/startup communities, entrepreneurship, consulting, advising
  • FAS or technical sales professionals who want strategic ownership over a product, not just the customer-facing role
  • Technically deep generalists from early-stage biotech who have worked across functions and built things from scratch
  • PMs who are genuinely close to the science and can engage credibly with end users

Domain knowledge by role:

  1. CRISPR / genome editing, barcoded library sequencing, functional genomics, gene panels
  2. RNA-seq: bulk and single-cell transcriptomics, cell culture assays, cell viability and differentiation
  3. Genomics: WGS, WES, cfDNA, epigenomics — plus a strategic view on where the field is heading

These are high-visibility, foundational roles where you’ll own product lines end-to-end, work directly with leadership, and see your work reach customers in weeks. You’ll also help define how product management works here — not inherit someone else’s playbook.

South SF Bay Area preferred; relocation considered.
