We are exclusively partnered with one of the most exciting companies in genomics right now. They are looking for a Sales Director to own and build their European commercial organisation. This is not a backfill, and it does not come up twice.

The company has changed the economics of sequencing. What used to be a potentially expensive bottleneck is now fast, simple, and affordable enough to be part of everyday research workflows. The product has built a loyal following across academic, biotech, and pharma research teams globally, and the service portfolio is expanding rapidly.

Europe is the largest commercial opportunity in the business. The labs, the team, and the infrastructure are already in place. What comes next depends entirely on the person who steps into this role.

The role

  • Own the European region commercially, with full accountability for revenue growth across the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, France, and Italy
  • Inherit a core team of account managers and a technical sales specialist, with an active hiring plan for additional account managers and inside sales
  • Set up commercial processes, forecasting discipline, and the operating rigour the region needs to scale
  • Build and deepen strategic BioPharma relationships as a core part of the growth strategy
  • Work as a player/coach, actively selling and managing deals alongside building the team
  • Partner with US leadership, product, marketing, and lab operations teams

What you bring

  • 15 or more years in genomics and commercial leadership
  • A track record of building commercial teams from a small base through meaningful growth, with numbers to prove it
  • Real hiring, development, and performance management experience within European commercial environments
  • Experience scaling an early-stage regional commercial organisation, with P&L ownership preferred
  • Startup or scale-up experience in a fast-moving, high-ambiguity environment
  • A biology-related degree minimum; Masters or PhD welcome
  • BioPharma commercial experience is a strong plus
