Invenia Group has partnered with one of the leading companies within the genomics and Multiomic analyses industry that is making great discoveries in areas such as oncology, neuroscience, and infectious disease. Due to growth, the company is looking for multiple bench roles from Senior Scientist to Senior Research Associate to join their team based in San Jose. This role will become a crucial member of the team and will have lots of development and progression opportunities.

Role responsibilities:

Working in a fast-paced, start-up environment, this position will be a key contributor for the optimization and development of advanced bioassays using spatial omics approaches. You will conduct experiments to map spatial gene activity and expression as well as support technique optimization for in situ imaging of gene activity localization, and expression. This is a multi-disciplinary position that will involve working closely with other scientists and engineers within the business. Responsibilities include:
• Executing experiments for the development of novel molecular biology assay schemes
• Supporting the method development and optimization
• Supporting the optimization of sample preparation methods
• Generating test samples
• Preparing assay reagents etc.
• Supporting the development, verification, and validation of products
• Analysing research data and assisting with data interpretation.
• Maintaining accurate records through diligent experimental observations and data tracking.
• Clearly communicating and presenting results to the team

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone with a BS/MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field and 2+ years of full-time, hands-on molecular biology experience in an academic or industrial setting. You will also:
• Have hands-on experience with the following techniques:
o Standard molecular biology techniques e.g. sample preparation, nucleic acid purification (RNA/DNA), and NGS and/or DNA sequencing
o PCR and/or qPCR
o Microscopy
o FISH or other in situ fluorescence techniques
o Cell culture and tissue preparation
• Must be detail oriented with good communication and collaboration skills.
• Have experience with experimental design, troubleshooting and data analysis
