Invenia Group has partnered with one of the leading companies within the Spatial 3D Genomics and Multiomic analyses industry. Due to growth, the company is looking for a Staff Scientist/Senior Staff Scientist to join their team based in San Jose. This role will become a crucial member of the team and will have lots of development and progression opportunities.

Role responsibilities:

If successful, you will be responsible for the optimization and development of advanced bioassays using spatial omics approaches. You will manage experiments to map spatial gene activity and expression as well as assist technique optimization for in situ imaging of gene activity localization and expression. This role will involve working closely with other scientists and engineers within the business.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Leading the method development of novel molecular biology assays for spatial omics applications
  • Supporting the optimization of sample preparation methods
  • Work cross-functionally at all stages of product development
  • Plan & execute experiments and provide in-depth analysis and reports
  • Support the development, verification, and validation of products
  • Develop protocols for in-situ spatial omics products and execute verification of these products
  • Guide junior Scientists in their day-day activities

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone with a Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field and 5+ years of molecular biology experience in an academic or industrial setting. You will also have hands-on experience with the following techniques:

    • Development of sample handling/preparation techniques for cell culture and FFPE fixation
    • Experience developing nucleic acid sequencing assays and hybridization assays
    • Strong knowledge of fluorescence markers and imaging techniques
    • It would also be desirable to have experience with product development of NGS/Spatial assays/products
    • It would also be desirable to have experience with advanced fluorescence and microscopy and image analysis
