We are currently in search of a dynamic and driven Business Development Executive to operate from our client’s UAE office, overseeing the food safety business in key regions such as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar. Expect regular travel within these countries.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive and maintain sales growth in the designated territory through a strategic combination of direct engagement and distribution channels.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to distributors and direct customers, concentrating on improving their selling skills, technical proficiency, and overall business acumen.
  • Collaborate in initiating and executing alternative distribution models, working closely with the Director – Business Development – Middle East and dedicated distributor sales representatives.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, emphasizing cross-selling strategies and overall business expansion.
  • Actively prospect for new business within the existing customer base, particularly targeting those who haven’t made purchases in the last 12 months.
  • Evaluate and optimize existing distribution channels in designated countries, actively seeking, interviewing, and appointing new distributors and sales channel partners when necessary.
  • Support training initiatives and conduct product training for new and existing customers/distributors, focusing on new product introductions and assigned product lines.
  • Manage the initial level of customer support, addressing technical issues, handling complaints, and assisting with product applications.
  • Engage in extensive travel throughout the territory, approximately 50% of the time, to proactively stimulate business growth.
  • Provide technical support, including demonstrations, installations, and training, across the entire product range.
  • Develop a comprehensive business plan for the territory, prioritizing customers, geographies, products, and segments.
  • Identify market potential and devise market strategies for managing product introductions and development.
  • Offer feedback on market requirements for product development, monitor competitor activities, and suggest adaptive tactics and strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department to contribute to the development of suitable marketing materials tailored for the iEMEA market.
  • Work closely with Customer Services teams to ensure customer delivery expectations are met and minimize back-order situations.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with CRM systems, order processing procedures, and associated logistics, ensuring accurate recording of all customer information in the CRM program.
  • Actively monitor and sustain gross margins for the product portfolio to ensure ongoing profitability.
  • Assist with general financial management, including budget setting, obtaining forecasts, report preparation, and handling payment and invoice-related matters.
  • Contribute to setting strategic goals for the territory.
  • Attend industry trade shows and accompany sales personnel on customer visits as needed.
  • Initiate a rolling 12-month forecast for all major products and prepare monthly sales reports.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director – Business Development – Middle East.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in technical sales or food-related sales is preferred. A degree in Life Science, food-related, or another technical field is desirable.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) are essential.
  • Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
  • Mathematical and Computer Skills:
  • Strong mental arithmetic and numeracy skills are crucial.
  • Familiarity with software packages, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and CRM systems is essential.

General Requirements:

The ideal candidate must be highly motivated and driven, possessing excellent organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Availability for international travel, including overnight stays in the Middle East & Africa, is mandatory for customer meetings and international shows.
