Invenia Group is partnered with one of the fastest-growing speciality generic and novel pharmaceutical companies headquartered in Asia, which is seeking a Director of Business Development (Novel Products) located in Europe with a strong in-licensing background to take on this newly created role.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate building the company portfolio by assessing potential licensing targets, acquiring portfolios, specific transactions, and other business development opportunities.
  • Incorporating the entire available and planned portfolio into the budget process.
  • Monitoring the state of the market and the market trends in the region.
  • Closely cooperating with the organization’s offices regarding evaluating projects and new opportunities for business development.
  • As a senior member of the BD department, seek out and introduce differentiated ideas aligned to current and future proposed business strategy & infrastructure, delivering sustainable revenue.
  • Meeting with potential partners, dossier developers brokers etc to present the company as a partner of choice, and to uncover and ensure access to the best business opportunities.
  • Working cross-functionally within the company, providing timely feedback on ideas and accurate and complete input into internal pipeline management teams
  • To identify & approach potential strategic partners for developing the portfolio & pipeline in line with strategy.
  • Where applicable investigate multiple sources and recommend the most suitable for the company.
  • The development and management of Heads of Terms, and commercial contracts through to completion.
  • The coordination of project due diligence activities by working with cross-functional teams
  • Work with the commercial business units to identify new product development, licensing, and portfolio optimization opportunities.
  • To support the New Product Introduction team as a point of escalation avoiding any potential delays / negative material changes to the project terms and deliverables.
  • Where necessary facilitate/ contribute to project / commercial meetings to support the delivery of the project

Skills and Experience required

  • Education level: Higher education with a University Degree.
  • Work experience: minimum 5 years of in-licensing of generic drugs
  • Professional experience: experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Expertise: statutory documents related to the activity of the company, Commerce Act, Labour Code, Internal Rules and Regulations of the Company, and other internal statutory texts of the company.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize.
  • Strong communication skills (in writing and verbally) as well as the ability to influence.
