Invenia Group has partnered with a growing biotechnology company looking to hire a Director of Business Development for its team of experts. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an exciting work environment, where you will have the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of cell and gene therapy. We are looking for candidates based within Europe for this role.

Role responsibilities:

If successful, you will be responsible for driving the entire BD process from search/evaluation to deal execution. You will lead business development efforts in the identification, evaluation, and development of acquisition, and communicate long-term business objectives and priorities through external partnerships. You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Lead search and evaluation activities and projects in base editing, gene editing, RNA therapeutics
  • Responsible for building business cases; assessing commercial plans, market opportunities, and financial transaction structures for prospective partners.
  • Lead the activities/input necessary to establish the business case market opportunity, competitive intelligence, strategic assessment, appropriate transaction financial structure, etc.)
  • Own the overall execution of an evaluation project.
  • Identify, analyze, and act on opportunities for growth.
  • Participate in and lead in-depth reviews and due diligence on external opportunities.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone with life sciences or other closely related fields with at least 2-3 years of experience in drug development or cell therapy/immunology/hematopoiesis/regenerative medicine-related research. You should also understand FDA and/or EMA quality and regulatory processes.

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of securing profitable new business, negotiating substantial complex contractual agreements, and pricing models, and having a strategic ability to design, manage and lead business development programs and projects while achieving deadlines. You should also have strong research skills and the ability to analyze new business opportunities to pursue them successfully.
