Invenia Group has exclusively partnered with a growing start-up that is currently seeking a VP / Head of Biopharma Business Development to join the team. Here, you will have the opportunity to build out a team from scratch and develop the US market.

This company builds RUO tools & molecular diagnostic kits (precision oncology) that enable academic and biopharma scientists to make R&D and preclinical discoveries. They develop 3D genomic assays to gain access to the sequence and structure of the genome and to reveal spatial-temporal changes in chromatin structure to gain insights into diseases.

Role responsibilities:

If successful, you will partner with executive teams to develop the full biopharma commercial strategy and create opportunities for assays to be studied in the context of completed clinical trials as an improved patient stratification tool. You will expand market access for these therapeutics through partnerships to increase biomarker test utilization, advance assays from evaluation to inclusion, and position our assays for consideration in companion diagnostic programs. You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Create opportunities for research products to be evaluated and utilized within discovery groups across targeted firms
  • Develop relationships with key opinion leaders
  • Present technical and commercial perspectives on biopharma-sponsored clinical trials to support sophisticated product solutions and services for customer initiatives

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone with strong experience in the diagnostics and/or oncology space, as well as a proven track record of effectively developing and driving partnering initiatives with biopharma. You should have a Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, economics, or another related field (MBA or related advanced degree desired) and 5+ years of in-depth commercial, product management, business development, and/or marketing in a related industry.

We are also looking for someone with the following skills:

  • Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple priorities
  • Adaptable and flexible in an environment of changing priorities
  • Prior success in negotiations
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, both domestic and internationally
  • Ideally, this candidate would live on the East Coast
