Invenia Group is partnered with an exciting AI powered clinical stage biotech company, headquartered in the US, who are seeking a Head of Toxicology with strong experience in advancing drug discovery projects into development to take on this newly created role. Please note, this is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a nonclinical safety plan to support clinical development and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Design, monitor and coordinate the conduct of GLP and non-GLP toxicology studies at CROs in line with project timelines and budget.
  • Sufficient breadth of knowledge of all areas of non-clinical safety (and supportive processes) to drive non-clinical safety aspects of projects strategically and efficiently in discovery, development and/or post-marketing phases, including provision for external diligence activities.
  • Has a good knowledge of other disciplines (e.g. Pharmacology, ADME, Clinical, etc.) to enable visible contributions to a multi-disciplinary scientific/operational strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate toxicology findings into drug development strategies.
  • Reviews, prepares, and/or approves relevant safety documentation associated with raw materials, formula composition, ingredient lines, directions for use and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Collaborate with external vendors and CROs for the outsourcing of toxicology studies. And manage budgets, timelines, and resources for toxicology studies and projects.

Qualifications

  • PhD in toxicology, pharmacology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related subject with focus on human health hazard and risk assessment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience advancing drug discovery projects into development within a biopharma environment(or CRO experience).
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory guidelines and requirements related to small molecule toxicology.
  • Knowledge of drug development and understanding of life cycle management concepts and inter-dependencies with the overall development process.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills (English) are required, and the ability to work effectively with senior management.
