Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Oncology Sales Manager to provide strategic direction and leadership to a new team of regional account managers responsible for launching a new oncology treatment alongside a broad portfolio of medicines.

Through managing, leading, and coaching the team you will be responsible for consistently achieving sales revenue targets for the oncology portfolio and driving growth through adopting a new product. There will be a need to support the team to develop strategic level NHS customer relationships including payers and related key decision makers at a national and regional level to overcome any barriers and ensure innovative access solutions are implemented and a successful partnership is formed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve financial targets by increasing company revenues for the oncology portfolio.
  • Launch a new prostate cancer treatment across the NHS and private providers, ensuring your team achieves expected milestones, market access and sales.
  • Develop a high-performing regional account manager team with high levels of oncology disease and product knowledge.
  • Set clear expectations for the team and ensure effective performance management.
  • Design rewarding and innovative incentive schemes that motivate individuals to want to exceed targets.
  • Develop individuals to reach their true potential through leading, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development of new materials and tools, such as value propositions, budget impact models and other relevant materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and measure sales force effectiveness.
  • Encourage positive collaboration across the business to ensure oncology products obtain positive regional market access through clinical support.
  • Align sales activity with the marketing strategy and monitor and share feedback on the impact of promotional materials.
  • Continually develop the skills and capabilities of the team through relevant training and development.
  • Provide support and input to the contracting team regarding the pricing of oncology products across NHS contracts.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • ABPI-qualified and degree-level education
  • Proven sales leadership
  • Experience working in oncology
  • Thorough understanding of the evolving NHS structure across the UK, with specific reference to policies and medicine funding streams for oncology products
  • Proven coaching and developing skills
  • Strategic, analytical thinking & planning skills
  • Learning agility to acquire solid product and disease area knowledge to facilitate effective customer communications
  • Ability to build and manage internal and external networks
  • High degree of self-motivation and long-term commitment
  • Commercially aware with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate in a complex fast-moving environment.
