We are partnered with a start-up company with a dedicated mission to provide precise solutions for patients living with and suffering from cancer.  Our client has a team of 15 people all across Europe with a broad range of background and significant expertise in clinical genetics.

This company is currently building its bioinformatic teams and looking for like-minded individuals who are passionate about cutting-edge technologies within healthcare and want to make a significant impact in a key role where they will be part of the Bioinformatics and Machine Learning teams.

Role responsibilities

As a successful Senior Computational Biologist, you will be primarily developing complex bioinformatic pipelines to complement the development of new computational methods and assay. Your role will also involve researching and integrating these new findings into their existing pipeline to keep nurturing the core bioinformatic tools of the company. You will be working in a collaborative environment and have the option of working fully remotely from home (anywhere in Europe) or from one of their hubs in Switzerland or Finland.

This role will involve regular collaboration with the Director of NGS assay development to implement the best protocol for the experiment as well as creating and maintaining consistent pipelines for the detection of genomic variants. You will also review literature and keep up to date with industry methodologies and plan the company’s data needs ahead to develop innovative technologies for the future.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a hands-on person who can develop high-quality software for the company. You will be an experienced multi-tasker and able to use different platforms to work on genomic data as well as develop new algorithms for computational biology. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills and ideally experience mentoring and leading junior scientists with the ability to work on a role that is involved both in computational and experimental science.

Given the nature of the role, relevant experience in a quantitative field such as computational biology, computer science, engineering is a must. We are looking for someone with strong statistical analysis skills and experience applying them to relevant scientific problems as well as a positive can-do attitude.
