Technical Project Manager

Invenia Group has exclusively partnered with a specialist company that invents, designs, and develops new products and technologies. They specialize in different areas e.g. Omics, diagnostics, and cell and gene therapy, etc. They are hiring multiple roles across the business units as part of an expansion plan. This position would be joining their specialist Omics team. This is one of the newest departments in the company and specializes in innovations across the Omics industry including single-cell and spatial analysis, sequencing, and multi-omic analytics, etc. The team focuses on projects in the field of genomics, proteomics, and future omics.

This is a smaller team, that the company is expecting to significantly grow this coming year.

Role responsibilities: 

The company is seeking a technical project leader that will be working with some of the most exciting start-ups in this field to oversee the development of tools for sequencing, sample extraction, library preparation, etc. The person in this role will need to be capable of developing solutions to complex technical problems whilst also building strong relationships with new and existing clients. You will also be managing a team of around 9 direct reports.

You will be involved in the full product development lifecycle, from taking requirements to delivering prototypes ready to be manufactured.

As a project leader, you will manage multi-phase projects for clients, acting as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to propose and develop entirely new technological and commercial offerings – with experience, your combination of increasing market and technology insight will enable you to uncover valuable new business opportunities.

What we are looking for: 

• Someone who can independently lead large, multi-disciplinary project teams
• Must have technical experience in an area that is translatable to the ‘Omics fields’ described above
• Able to perform adapt and shape evolving project deliverables and summarise technical progress for clients
• Must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable in a client-facing role
• Ideally experienced using or developing ‘Omics technologies, but this is not essential

Essential experience:

• Experience in a client-facing role.
• Good understanding and knowledge of the Omics market, including the key technical challenges that may come up, and an understanding of the major players in this market.
• Stakeholder management within a project delivery framework, including clients, suppliers, operators, sub-contractors, and finance
• Demonstrated capability to develop and communicate high-value project plans for new product development.
• Some knowledge of the biological sciences and/or a practical understanding of product development in a regulated industry (e.g. ISO13485) would be beneficial but is not essential
